Autonomous Cars
AI is helping auto makers address many challenges on the way toward achieving fully autonomous vehicles. Applications of AI include exterior and interior vision and detection systems, analysis of driving conditions, and improved user interfaces using speech or gestures.
Many of these applications demand low latency. For example, the vehicle must detect a collision hazard and react quickly, to allow for braking at driving speeds. At freeway speed, a car may travel 100 feet (or 30 meters) in a second. It is therefore critical for detection systems to operate in very small fractions of a second. To achieve this requires sufficient computational power for fast detection, using data from all the vehicle’s sensors used to collect collision obstacle information.
Our NovuTensor chip has been designed for these types of demanding applications, delivering an unsurpassed performance-to-power consumption ratio.
